Have you noticed how seductive separation (the belief we are all separate from each other and God) is? Separation can show up as drama, excitement, anxiety, or depression.

The opposite of separation is to pierce through the illusion of separation – and remember who you really are: A whole, undistorted expression of the Divine.

I’m finding that over the last couple of weeks I can move from the place of wholeness, peace, and calm into separation in an instance – with no notice or warning.

Sometimes when this happens I’m jarred by the experience and its unpleasant. But sometimes it feels good. I find myself feeling and thinking “ahh – here’s what it is to be alive!”

Yet separation is the root of all pain and suffering. I know this. Yet the seduction of separation tells me to jump and I respond “how high?!”

Drama can be very seductive. Feeling separate can be very seductive as well. When I’m feeling separate I don’t have to take responsibility for what’s happening in my life and how I’m feeling.

My practice over the last two weeks has evolved into slowing down time when I see any signs up separation pop up so I can remember who I really am before I get caught in the cycle of separation – which inevitably leads to suffering and unhappiness.
