Ken W Stone

We set a course thinking we know where we’re headed.

Sometimes we reach our intended destination.

Other times we are distracted by bright shiny objects.

Some of the time our intended destination gets us into motion, and the Divine has other plans for us.

***

I heard a brilliant scholar speak earlier this week on finding your true self.

As he spoke I heard the truth called forth from the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the writings of Richard Rohr, the Qur’an – and others.

***

This same truth is woven through your very essence – it exists before language, before religion, before even belief.
It is … just as … I Am.

***

The pathway to uncovering the soul is within he said.

Release control and explore your true nature.

***

Amen, brother!

***

For years I thought I was broken, fundamentally flawed, unlovable and unworthy.

Even after I witnessed others’ wholeness and beauty, I still thought myself unworthy.

Then I surrendered control of my life to the Divine.

And for the first time I knew unconditional love. Without end, without beginning.

Ohh to be free!

***

We remember and experience our wholeness Beneath the Sand.

Is BTS required to remember and experience your wholeness?

No.

You are already whole.

***

Yet this experience of separation comes over and over again.

What is the source of separation?

***

As he spoke, I realized the beauty of so many different perspectives pointing towards one singular truth – expressed in so many different ways.

To once again realize we are all one for the first time all over again.
A profound epiphany re-encountered, in a way never before experienced.

***

No doubt you’ve heard me talk about the framework around “healing” – and how even this concept is a distraction.

There is nothing to heal – because there is nothing wrong – nothing broken.

The illusion of separation is so compelling often we would argue to the point of exhaustion to try to prove that something is seriously wrong.

***

Yet we are all whole.

***

And once we remember and experience this for ourselves, everything changes.

Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that our perspective on what is real changes.

***

“Healing” is a by-product of that experience – not the point, for as long as I think there is something wrong that must be fixed I will chase to the ends of the earth to figure out what is wrong.

At some point I may realize the answer: nothing.

This past weekend my Grandmother turned 95. I took my girls to California for the celebration. They requested that the first stop on our trip be the beach.

We landed last Thursday afternoon, drove straight to the beach in Santa Cruz and went right into the water.

After a while Emma and Riley were into the surf letting the waves break around their waist and over their shoulders.

Emma jumped up to avoid a larger wave – and her sunglasses slipped from atop her head into the water.

She tried to grasp them but they slipped into the dark water – gone.

I told her not to worry about it – and keep playing – which is exactly what she did.

A couple of hours later her sunglasses washed up on the beach right in front of her feet.

***

A profound epiphany re-encountered, in a way never before experienced.

***

This past weekend my aunts and uncles and cousins gathered to celebrate a birthday.

95 years on Sunday.

She got it all started for our family all those years ago.

A diversity of belief, experience, and perspective in this family.

All together because of one unifying thing.

***

Our mom, grandma, great grandma is the one thing in our family.

***
One thing.

***

We share one thing on this planet, in the cosmos.

It unifies us.

It moves through us.

It expresses as us.

It is who we are.

***

Grandma, Ocean, Cosmos, Nameless One.

Thank you for getting this all started.

Thank you for weaving the truth through our DNA, through the breath of our planet and the breath of the universe.

Thank you for expressing in my thoughts and my actions.

Through the waves and the sun.

Through the wonder and awe we experience as we encounter our true self.

Through the love we feel inside when we encounter you.

Thank you for the gift of discovering myself, and in so doing, discovering you.

Thank you for the gift of discovering you in my family, my neighbors, and my brothers and sisters by breath around the world.

***

Though I know you are equally present in each expression of you, many times I see your presence in greater measure in some and not as much in others.

Separation still clouds my vision.

Seeing this, I recognize the opportunity to let go once again.

And so I surrender.

***

That’s it for this week … From My Heart.

Peace,

Ken
